Logistics
What is Logistics? This is the movement of any product from the point of Origin to the point of Consumption. A wide reaching subject and one that can be cut into smaller more understandable pieces.
Point of Origin normally means a raw material state, which has to go through an assembly or production process. It can also be defined as manufacturing locally or overseas. The point of consumption is where the manufactured product is purchased by the end user. This process is also known as the Supply Chain. Along the way there are processes that, even though they are part of Logistics (Supply Chain), they require a particular set of skills to understand and improve them. |
